Dorset County Hospital, Dorchester is a busy, modern District General Hospital, run by the Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

The hospital has approximately 400 beds and is the main provider of acute hospital services, including an accident and emergency department, to a population of around 210,000, living within Weymouth and Portland, West Dorset, North Dorset and Purbeck.

In addition, it also provides renal services for patients throughout Dorset and South Somerset; a total population of 850,000.
