James Paget Hospital serves a population of around 230,000 people in the Great Yarmouth, Lowestoft and Waveney area. The hospital is named after Sir James Paget. It was established as a third wave NHS Trust from 1 April 1993 and is run by the James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The hospital provides acute hospital care, including an Accident and Emergency service. The hospital has teaching facilities as part of the University of East Anglia Norwich Medical School. Hospital care for elderly patients is provided at Lowestoft Hospital and also at the Norwich Community Hospital.
